Two men were shot to death early Saturday morning in Cypress Park by two suspects who fled the scene, police said.
The shooting occurred about 3:35 a.m. Saturday morning near the intersection of Cypress Avenue and Future Street, police said, when two men in one vehicle drove up to a group of three men in a second vehicle and started shooting.
“Two of the victims were struck by the gunfire,” Los Angeles Police Department Officer Sara Faden said. “The third victim sustained minor injuries.”
After they were shot and the suspects fled, Faden said the victims were able to drive a short distance until their car crashed at the intersection of Eagle Rock Boulevard and Verdugo Road.
The two men were pronounced dead at the scene, she said, and an official with the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Saturday morning that their identities had not yet been confirmed.
An investigation was continuing.
