Soldier from California shot to death in Jordan

A U.S. soldier has died after being shot while on deployment to Jordan, the Army announced Monday.
Spec. Adrian Perkins, 19, from Pine Valley in eastern San Diego County, died Saturday at King Hussein Hospital in Amman, Jordan. He was shot while on a Jordanian military base, although no Jordanians were involved in the incident, the Army said.
The death is under investigation.
Perkins, an infantryman, was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colo. He had been in the Army for 21 months and was deployed to Jordan in October.
