Earthquake: 3.5 quake strikes near Hayfork

A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Thursday morning 17 miles from Hayfork, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:24 a.m. PDT at a depth of 19.9 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 32 miles from Bayside, 34 miles from Arcata, 35 miles from Fortuna and 178 miles from Sacramento.
In the past 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
