Earthquake: 3.1 quake strikes near San Simeon, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Monday afternoon seven miles from San Simeon, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:13 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.7 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 24 miles from Paso Robles, Calif., 28 miles from Morro Bay, Calif., 29 miles from Atascadero, Calif., and 197 miles from Sacramento.
In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
