It was a place that crooks feared and cops loved. Parker Center was the nation’s most modern police facility when it opened its glass doors 57 years ago. But as happens to a patrolman on the beat, old age finally took its toll. Its occupants are packing up and moving on. Det. Gus Villanueva reminisces about his days there.
