Sailing into a Zanzibar sunset
Kathleen Losey went to East Africa last month for a wildlife safari, but one of her favorite pictures was from a side trip to the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar. From the pool deck of the Zanzibar Serena Inn, she took this sunset photo of a dhow sailing into the 22-mile-wide channel that separates the island from mainland Tanzania. The Los Angeles artist and interior designer says the trip, part of a tour organized by Santa Ana Zoo, and reported in Travel’s Tours & Cruises column, was “fabulous.” Her next trip is an art-themed vacation in Tahiti led by a watercolor instructor.
