Feel like pointing your car north for a little drive this weekend?
It’s not too late to get tickets for some events at the World of Pinot Noir festival this weekend at Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara.
Although the Friday seminar “Oregon Meets Burgundy” with Louis Jadot and the Saturday Burgundy seminar, “The Insider Wines of the Côte d’Or,” are both sold out, tickets are still available for Friday or Saturday’s “Pinot Noir by the Sea Grand Tasting” at 3 p.m. ($110). Friday’s will present Pinot Noir from more than 100 producers and includes cheese and appetizers from the Bacara culinary team. Saturday’s tasting presents a different lineup of producers, bringing in more than 120 Pinot Noirs from the Central Coast, Europe and elsewhere. More cheese and appetizers, and on both days, sea views from the Terrace.
If you get there early enough on Friday or Saturday, you can attend a free screening of the wine-themed films “SOMM,” at 3:10 p.m., or “Sideways,” at 4:50 p.m.
And look, there’s still one seminar open. It’s “Hollywood & Vine” — SOMM vs. Sideways, with lunch from Frank Ostini of the Hitching Post II. That’s Saturday at 10 a.m. ($130).
There’s also some space left at the Saturday Gala Dinner at 7 p.m. ($165), which ends the festival.
Just a thought.
