Taco Madness, Ramen Yokocho fest, Ktown Night Market

Last year’s ramen show Ramen Yokocho at the Torrance Cultural Art Center drew about 20,000 visitors in two days. So this year’s event, which takes place Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., has moved to Santa Anita Park in Arcadia to accommodate 30,000 people. Fourteen ramen restaurants from Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Las Vegas and Japan will showcase their signature bowls of ramen (for $8 a bowl). Some restaurants will prepare ramen exclusively for the event. The Los Angeles ramen shops include Daikokuya, Fujin, Jidaiya, Men Oh Tokushima, Hayatemaru and Shin Sen Gumi. From Japan: Horaiya, Mattou Seimen, Tatsunoya and Tsujita Tokyo. Admission is $5 (free for ages 17 and younger. Santa Anita parking is $4 per car. 285 W. Taco Madness happens at Grand Park on April 5 and features taco trucks, restaurants and stands including Guerrilla Tacos, Mexicali Taco & Co., Mariscos Jalisco, Tacos Arabes de Puebla and Carnitas El Momo. Along with the world’s first automatic tortilla making machine, there will be a tortilla contest, DJs, artists and a beer garden run by Bricia and Fernando Lopez of Oaxacan restaurant La Guelaguetza with speciality tequila drinks, beer specials and “the ultimate michelada station.” Free entry, but early arrival is recommended as Grand Park’s performance lawn may reach capacity. The Ktown Night Market takes place on April 18 and April 19 at Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools, with more than 100 food and merchandise vendors and food trucks, live performances, art exhibits and Kpop workshops. The food truck lineup includes Seoul Sausage, Grill ‘Em All, the Lime Truck, Jogasaki, Bowled & Beautiful, White Rabbit Truck, Belly Bombz and Coolhaus.
