En cadenas de mensajes de texto, tuits y filas en los cafés, todos parecen estar conjeturando las posibles vías a la victoria del presidente Donald Trump o su rival demócrata Joe Biden.
Amaneció el día después de la jornada electoral sin que estuviera claro cuándo se conocerá al ganador. Los márgenes eran estrechísimos, y los estados disputados daban la victoria a uno u otro.

Esto no sorprendió a todos. En medio de la pandemia del coronavirus, muchos estados facilitaron la votación por correo, y millones de personas la aprovecharon. Esto ha demorado el recuento, porque el procesamiento de los votos por correo suele ser más lento que el de las boletas emitidas en el lugar.
Pero esto no alivia la angustia de la espera.
