TNT tracks down another season of crime hit ‘Rizzoli & Isles’

Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander, you aren’t done punching the clock for “Rizzoli & Isles.”
TNT announced Tuesday that it was picking up another 18 episodes of the crime drama for its sixth season, which will start in summer 2015. Season 5 of the series, previously announced, is due to start airing early next year.
“Rizzoli & Isles” has been one of the top cable dramas since it premiered, with a storytelling approach that is more traditional and an audience that is older than usually found on cable series that get more media attention.
Harmon plays Jane Riazoli, a tough Boston detective who cracks cases with her brainiac best friend Dr. Maura Isles (Alexander), a forensics expert.
This past summer, “Rizzoli & Isles” drew a total audience of 7.6 million viewers over the one-week period following original telecasts, according to Nielsen.
