Tragically misquoted, Taylor Swift sets SAT study guide straight

“Accuse me of anything but do not attack my grammar.”
That’s the warning Taylor Swift appended to a post on her Tumblr in which the pop star addressed a reference to her music in an SAT study guide.
Reblogging a fan’s photo of a question asking test-takers to find the grammatical error in excerpts from several pop songs, Swift pointed out that the study guide had actually made the error in quoting her hit “Fifteen.”
“Somebody tells you they love you, you got to believe ‘em,” the test said, presumably pointing to Swift’s slang-ified version of the plural pronoun “them” to refer to a singular person.
In fact, Swift sings, “Somebody tells you they love you, you’re gonna believe them” -- which doesn’t exactly clear her of the alleged usage crime, but there you have it.
“Not the right lyrics at all pssshhhh,” Swift wrote in her post. “You had one job, test people. One job.”
