‘Gravity,’ ‘Her,’ ‘Oblivion’ earn Art Directors Guild nominations

“Gravity,” “Her,” “American Hustle” and “12 Years a Slave” were among the nominees Thursday morning for the Art Directors Guild’s annual awards for production design.
Nominated in the period film category were Judy Becker for “American Hustle”; Catherine Martin for “The Great Gatsby”; Jess Goncher for “Inside Llewyn Davis”; Michael Corenblith for “Saving Mr. Banks”; and Adam Stockhausen for “12 Years a Slave.”
Vying in the fantasy film category are Philip Ivey for “Elysium”; Andy Nicholson for “Gravity”; Dan Hennah for “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”; Darren Gilford for “Oblivion”; and Scott Chambliss for “Star Trek Into Darkness.”

Contemporary film nominees are David Gropman for “August: Osage County”; Santo Loquasto for “Blue Jasmine”; Paul Kirby for “Captain Phillips”; K.K. Barrett for “Her”; and Bob Shaw for “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
The winners are to be announced Feb. 8 at a ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
