The series “Frozen Planet” is a bipolar look — that’s North Pole and South Pole — at the polar bears, penguins and other cool critters that inhabit the frosty realms at the top and bottom of the planet. Bring a sweater. (Animal Planet, Discovery, TLC, 8 and
11 p.m.)
MONDAY
Urkel versus Half Pint: Jaleel White (“Family Matters”) and Melissa Gilbert (“Little House on the Prairie”) join tennis champ Martina Navratilova, R&B great Gladys Knight and other twinkle-toed celebs on a new season of “Dancing With the Stars.” (ABC, 8 p.m.)
TUESDAY
The new special “Lucky Muckers” profiles Londoners who dig for buried treasures along the muddy banks of the Thames. In other riparian news, the Amazon-set drama “The River” ends its freshman season. (National Geographic, 8 p.m.; ABC, 9 p.m.)
WEDNESDAY
Get “Bent.” Amanda Peet and David Walton, above, star as a lawyer-slash-single mom and the contractor who’s helping fix up her Venice fixer-upper, in this new sitcom. “Arrested Development’s” Jeffrey Tambor also stars. (NBC, 9 and 9:30 p.m.)
THURSDAY
Following January’s sneak peek, “Touch” makes its official series premiere. “24’s” Kiefer Sutherland stars in this intriguing drama about a single dad, his mute but mentally gifted young son, and humanity’s ever-increasing interconnectedness. (Fox, 9 p.m.)
FRIDAY
The Galaxy claiming the MLS championship and Kobe Bryant’s MVP performance at last year’s NBA All-Star Game are just two of the athletic feats feted in the new special “L.A. Sports Awards: Greatest Moments of 2011.” (FSN, 10:45 p.m.)
SATURDAY
