Katey Sagal, who plays the ruthless matriarch of an outlaw motorcycle gang in FX’s “Sons of Anarchy,” was considered a front-runner for the 2011 Emmys after being overlooked last year. Sagal won the award for lead actress in a television drama at this year’s Golden Globes, but despite the intensity of her performances, Emmy voters again looked the other way.
