There’s another Poppy in the Bush family, only this one is a girl: Jenna Bush Hager and Henry Hager welcomed their second child Thursday.

Poppy Louise Hager showed up at 20.5 inches and weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces, the “Today” show cast shared on Friday. Jenna, a special correspondent for NBC News, had announced her pregnancy on the show in April.

“We can now officially confirm that Jenna Bush Hager was pregnant,” Matt Lauer joked.

The Hagers finessed the boy-name-for-a-girl move a little more subtly than Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively did in naming their daughter James. “Poppy” was George H.W. Bush’s nickname growing up.

So Jenna’s grandpa was recognized -- while Poppy’s grandpa and grandma proudly announced the new arrival.

“Laura and I are overjoyed to meet our second grandchild today,” George W. Bush said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “Poppy Louise Hager entered the world yesterday in New York City, but we consider her an honorary Texan,”

“Baby sissy ... baby sissy ... yaaaa!” big sis Mila, 2, said in a home video her mom showed the world when she announced her second pregnancy. At the time, the toddler was trying to figure out how to kiss her little sister through mom’s belly.

Mila, incidentally, would be eligible to run in the 2048 presidential election.
