TV ratings: No Golden Globes bump for ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’

Fox’s cop-comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” won two Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, but it doesn’t look as if that has helped much in the ratings yet, according to early numbers from Nielsen.

Tuesday night’s episode of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” which earned honors both for the series itself and its star Andy Samberg, drew 3.5 million viewers on average and a rating of 1.4 among the key 18-49 demographic. That’s down about 6% from the previous week in the advertiser-desired age category and up 3% in overall viewers.

Fox’s other Tuesday night comedies were flat or down in 18-49 compared with last week, as “Dads” lost 20% of its demo rating, “New Girl” held steady at a 1.6 and “Mindy Project” lost a tenth of a point for a 1.2.

CBS was the highest rated network, with the night’s most-watched series “NCIS” (19.5 million viewers) flat with last week’s demo rating of 3.0. “NCIS: Los Angeles” returned from the winter break with a 2.4 in 18-49, flat with its last original, and “Person of Interest” steady week-to-week at a 2.0.

NBC’s two-hour “Biggest Loser,” with a Winter Olympics tie-in, was flat in the key demo at a 1.7 and up slightly in total viewers to 5.51 million, followed up by the 10 p.m. drama “Chicago Fire,” which fell 10% to a 1.8 in 18-49. Without “The Voice,” NBC was still the second highest-rated network among the big four.

ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” averaged 6.25 million viewers overall and a 2.2 in the demo, flat week to week. Freshman comedy “The Goldbergs” rose a bit to a 1.8 and “Trophy Wife” was flat, registering a 1.1. “Killer Women” continued to struggle at 10 p.m. It earned 3.47 million viewers and a rating of 0.7, down 22% from last week’s premiere.

The CW’s “Originals” and “Supernatural,” at 0.9 and 1.0 respectively, each returned from a brief hiatus with ratings that were off a tenth of a point from their last originals.
