All Dogs Go to Vegas

Every dog has its day — and with the help of Vdara Hotel & Spa, there’s no reason it can’t be the same day that his owner is living it up in Vegas.
The luxurious all-suite hotel recently launched V-Dog, a canine-friendly program that not only welcomes but also caters to pooches. For an additional $50 per night, guests can bring up to two dogs with a combined weight of 70 pounds or less to stay at the urban resort. A total of 12 suites at the nongaming and smoke-free property have been set aside for this purpose.
“We wanted to provide an opportunity so that you can travel with your dog,” said Mary Giuliano, the general manager at Vdara. “It’s a special experience.”
The V-Dog experience also includes several amenities: a freshly baked dog treat upon check-in, eco-friendly waste bags, access to a 24-hour dog park and an in-suite doggie dining menu created by French chef Arnaud Masset. Food options for pets include the Fetch of the Day (a seared filet with sweet potatoes, green beans and yellow squash) and the Chicken a la Coop (hormone-free baked chicken with whole grain brown rice).
Pet-sitting services are available for an additional fee through the concierge. In addition, Vdara provides crates for guests who plan on leaving their pups alone.
As for owners who have dogs over 70 pounds, they can stay at Vdara’s sister establishment, THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, which allows two canines per guest, up to a combined 100 pounds.
Rooms at Vdara begin at $109 a night, on top of a cleaning deposit of $75 and the aforementioned dog fee.
