SUNDAY
Overload! Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Kid Rock and just about any other pop act you can think of are among the performers slated for the “2010 American Music Awards.” (ABC, 8 p.m.)
In the gospel according to “Futurama,” Christmas is simply “Xmas,” Hanukkah has become “Robanakah,” and Kwanzaa is, well, still Kwanzaa. The animated sci-fi comedy celebrates all three with a special holiday episode. (Comedy Central, 10 and 11 p.m.)
MONDAY
Working-class hero? The walrus? Who was John Lennon, really? Imagine no more. Days in the life of the late, great music legend (below) are dramatized on “Masterpiece Contemporary” and documented on “American Masters.” (KCET, 8 and 9:30 p.m.)
TUESDAY
Obligatory “Glee” item: Carol Burnett guest stars. Desultory “Life Unexpected” item: “One Tree Hill’s” Bethany Joy Galeotti and Kate Voegele pay a crossover visit, and singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan performs. (Fox, 8 p.m.; KTLA, 9 p.m.)
WEDNESDAY
Bacon. Did your mouth just water a little? Did your nostrils flare slightly? Hear that sizzle? Here’s the cure: The special “Bacon Paradise,” a survey of eateries specializing in that greasy, salty pork product. It isn’t just for breakfast anymore. (Travel, 10 p.m.)
THURSDAY
Music has charms to soothe that Turkey Day tummy. Two chart-toppers showcase their talents in the specials “Taylor Swift: Speak Now” and “Beyoncé’s I Am ... World Tour,” while Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim gets an 80th birthday salute on “Great Performances.” (NBC, 8 p.m.; ABC, 9:30 p.m.; KCET, 9 p.m.)
FRIDAY
Cannibalism … environmental devastation … a serious decline in personal hygiene. The apocalypse isn’t pretty at all in director John Hillcoat’s 2009 adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel “The Road.” Viggo Mortensen (below) stars. (Showtime, 8 p.m.)
SATURDAY
Location, location, location: Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel find romance in the Eternal City in the 2009 tale “When in Rome,” and Amy Adams and Matthew Goode meet cute in the Emerald Isle in the 2009 rom-com “Leap Year.” (Starz, 9 p.m.; HBO, 9:30 p.m.)
