Nebraska stuns Missouri in Big 12 tournament

Brandon Richardson scored 19 points and No. 12 seed Nebraska took command with an early 16-1 run and shocked fifth-seeded Missouri, 75-60, Wednesday in an opening-round Big 12 tournament upset at Kansas City, Mo.
The Cornhuskers (15-17), who had won just two of 16 Big 12 regular-season games, outrebounded, outshot and outhustled the Tigers (22-10), who had easily beaten them twice this year.
Texas Tech 82, Colorado 67: John Roberson scored 19 points, Nick Okorie added 18 and the Red Raiders (17-14) overcame a sloppy start defensively. They will face top-ranked Kansas in the quarterfinals Thursday. Texas Tech assured itself of a winning record to bolster its NIT chances and keep alive its slim NCAA hopes.
Oklahoma state 81, Oklahoma 67: Keiton Page scored 19 of his 24 points in a dominating first half for the Cowboys (22-9), who will face ninth-ranked Kansas State in the quarterfinals.
Texas 82, Iowa State 75: Damion James had 28 points and 16 rebounds, and the Longhorns (24-8) finally pulled away from the Cyclones. James had three points, three rebounds and an assist during an 11-0 run that turned a one-point lead into a 12-point spread. T

Notre Dame 68, Seton Hall 56: Luke Harangody came off the bench to get 20 points and 10 rebounds at New York for the Fighting Irish (22-10), who have won five in a row. Harangody, who entered as the nation’s second-leading scorer at 23.3 points a game, injured his knee in a 90-87 loss at Seton Hall on Feb. 11 and missed five games.
Cincinnati 69, Louisville 66: Deonta Vaughn made two free throws with 5.9 seconds left then made the game-saving strip just before the buzzer for the Bearcats (18-14), who had never won a game in the tournament until Tuesday’s opening-round win over Rutgers.
Marquette 57, St. John’s 55: Lazar Hayward scored 20 points and David Cubillan made the deciding three-point shot with 1:11 to play as the fifth-seeded Golden Eagles (21-10) held on after losing a 14-point lead and advanced to the quarterfinals against fourth-seeded and 10th-ranked Villanova on Thursday.
Georgetown 69, South Florida 49: Jason Clark and Greg Monroe scored 16 points each, and the No. 22 Hoyas (21-9) built a big first-half lead. Georgetown will face top-seeded Syracuse on Thursday.
CONFERENCE USA
Houston 93, East Carolina 80: Aubrey Coleman scored 29 points, three above his nation-leading average, and Houston rolled to a first-round victory at Tulsa, Okla. Brock Young had 24 points to lead East Carolina (10-21) in the final game for Coach Mack McCarthy, who is taking an administration job at the school.
Southern Mississippi 57, Tulane 47: Gary Flowers had 17 points and 14 rebounds and the Golden Eagles (19-12) never trailed, setting up a quarterfinal matchup against third-seeded Alabama Birmingham on Thursday.
Tulsa 73, Rice 62: The Golden Hurricane (22-10) wiped out a 15-point halftime deficit and will play Marshall in the quarterfinals.
Central Florida 69, Southern Methodist 53: The Knights (15-16) shot 54% from the field to advance.
BIG SKY
Montana 66, Weber State 65: Anthony Johnson scored 34 of his career-high 42 points in the second half at Ogden, Utah, leading the Grizzlies (22-9) back from a 22-point deficit and into the NCAA tournament.
NORTHEAST
Robert Morris 52, Quinnipiac 50: Dallas Green deflected a potential game-winning shot then sank two free throws with seven seconds left at Hamden, Conn., as Robert Morris (23-11) earned its seventh trip to the NCAA tournament.
MOUNTAIN WEST
Air Force 59, Wyoming 40: The Falcons (10-20) ended a nine-game losing streak and earned a matchup against top-seeded New Mexico on Thursday at Las Vegas.
