A 26-year-old man is in jail after a road-rage incident Monday in which he allegedly fired four shots at an off-duty San Diego police sergeant driving his own car.
The sergeant was driving on Interstate 5 when he changed lanes to avoid a car closing rapidly behind him, police said. Suspecting that the driver might be drunk, the sergeant then sped up to get his license number.
The driver fired four shots at the sergeant’s car, police said. After being stopped in nearby National City, Lon Chhay was arrested and booked on charges of attempted murder and possession of weapons.
