Fanboys and girls released their inner avatars in high style at Comic-Con International, a four-day festival of, well, comics and other pop-culture phenoms. Where else could you see a musical Batman, a parade of zombies, Ironman, SpongeBob Squarepants, surprising Johnny Depp, vampire-licious Robert Pattinson and staid Edward James Olmos -- all in one place?
The estimated 120,000 pop-culture mavens who turned up in San Diego over Comic-Con’s four-day run in July were an enthusiastic, if somewhat motley, crew.
