CNN to go 3-D on election night

The television networks will all be employing cutting-edge technology to dissect Tuesday’s election results, but perhaps no network is going as far as CNN, which will be using holograms to bring more people onto its Election Center set.
The cable news channel announced Thursday that it will project 3-D images of correspondents and guests from the two campaign headquarters onto its set in New York. CNN’s anchors will then be able to interact in real time with the virtual images, which executives said will be more dynamic than a traditional split screen.
The network also will use a 3-D, 6-foot-long virtual depiction of the U.S. Capitol to illustrate the balance of power in the House and Senate.
