Possible jail time for pit bull owner

An Orange County court has ruled that a Westminster woman whose pit bull attacked a mail carrier must serve 30 days in jail or perform community service and pay restitution.
Sheri Moody, 54, was also placed on probation for three years, during which time she is prohibited from owning dogs, said a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office.
She was convicted Thursday of a misdemeanor charge of keeping a vicious animal.
She was originally charged with a felony in the September 2007 attack on postal worker David Carroll, who was severely injured when he was bit in the face numerous times by one of Moody’s dogs.
