No to road, development

Re “Toll road to nowhere,” editorial, Oct. 8
Allow me to add one more item to your editorial opposing the Foothill South toll road. In addition to the degradation of Trestles and harm to endangered species, sacred Native American sites and a popular state park, this road is the developers’ dream.
Why else would they be pumping so much money and rhetoric into the cause? Not only would the tollway’s alignment do nothing to alleviate north-south traffic, but the inevitable development of wilderness area would actually increase the number of vehicles on I-5.
The opponents of this project have no financial stake in this project, while the developers stand to make a bundle. I know which side to trust.
