UC Santa Barbara 57, Nicholls State 38: James Powell scored 12 points, including three three-pointers, and Chris Devine had eight points and nine rebounds to lead the Gauchos (3-3) in the World Vision International at Normal, Ill. Nicholls State (1-3) shot only 17.6% in the second half.

at Rider 85, Cal State Northridge 72: Ryan Thompson scored 25 points and pulled down nine rebounds at Lawrenceville, N.J., to lead the Broncs (3-1). Tremaine Townsend had 20 points and six rebounds for the Matadors (1-4).

UC Riverside 54, at Colgate 44: The Highlanders (4-1) shot only 34%, but they dominated the game at Hamilton, N.Y., by outrebounding Colgate, 39-15. Aaron Scott had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Riverside, which won its fourth in a row, its longest winning streak since 2000. The Raiders fell to 2-2.

at Arkansas Little Rock 67, Loyola Marymount 59: The Lions (0-6) held the lead for most of the first half, but Matt Mouzy scored 21 points and had three steals for the Trojans (5-0). Loyola Marymount’s reserves were outscored, 25-3.

Cal State Bakersfield 79, at Pepperdine 72 (OT): The Waves (1-5) blew a 16-point lead in the second half and lost their fifth in a row. Donald Lee had 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Roadrunners (2-3). Keion Bell had a career-high 23 points for the Waves.
