From Times Wire Reports
A 23-year-old German Muslim was convicted in Frankfurt, Germany, and sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison for stabbing a rabbi in the stomach last year.
Sajed Aziz was convicted of serious bodily injury in the September attack on Orthodox Jewish Rabbi Zalman Gurevitch on a Frankfurt street.
But Judge Klaus Drescher said there was not enough evidence to support the original charge of attempted manslaughter. Aziz admitted he stabbed Gurevitch but called it self-defense, saying the rabbi had grabbed him by the collar.
