Motorist shot on 10 Freeway

Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman motorist on the San Bernardino Freeway in Pomona on Wednesday night. The 54-year-old Rancho Cucamonga woman was shot in the head while driving eastbound, near White Avenue, about 10:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The woman crashed into a sound wall and was alive but unconscious when investigators arrived, the CHP said. She was taken to Pomona Valley Medical Center, where she later died. No one else was with the woman at the time of the shooting, and no other cars were involved in the crash, authorities said.

Authorities have not released the name of the woman, a chiropractor.
