Hearst CEO quits over rift

Victor Ganzi has resigned as chief executive of Hearst Corp. over policy disagreements with the board of the privately held media company, Hearst announced.
Former CEO Frank Bennack Jr. will reassume that role on an interim basis while the company launches a search for a new CEO, Hearst said.
Hearst, which owns newspapers, magazines and TV stations across the country, cited the reason for Ganzi’s departure as “irreconcilable policy differences” with the board of trustees over the company’s future direction.
