10 arrested in gang attacks

Police have made 10 arrests linked to a spate of apparent gang violence that left a 15-year-old stabbed to death.
The incident occurred in the waterfront area on Cabrillo Boulevard as thousands of people gathered Friday night to watch the city’s annual fireworks show.
Police have not released the name of the boy who died, or of two other teenagers, 14 and 15, who were treated and released for stab wounds and other injuries.
A 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder , and five other juveniles, ranging from 13 to 17 years old, were arrested on charges that include participation in an active street gang and conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon.
Also arrested were Miguel Marquez, 21; Richard Silva Garcia, 19; Edwin Josimar Miguel, 18; and Manuel Adrian Lira, 19.
A police spokesman said the boy’s death is gang-related.
