DAVID SARNO complains about the lack of independent films playing in this city, and that the theaters that do book them are stink-holes [“Clicked on That New Film Yet?,” July 2].
David, I hate to have to educate you, but Southern California has more than 93 screens devoted to independent and foreign film. Ever heard of the Laemmle theater chain, or Landmark? Not to mention other sites like the Silent Movie Theatre, the Fowler Museum, Skirball Cultural Center, UCLA? Then there’s the Los Angeles Film Festival.
