A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in his car while at a stoplight Monday night, police said.
Darione Page of Los Angeles was driving in the area of West 48th Street at Western Avenue just after 11 p.m. when a 1970s Honda with red primer spots drove up next to him.
A male passenger got out and fired several shots into Page’s 1992 Lexus “for no reason,” said Det. Carlos Velasquez, head of the LAPD’s 77th Street Division homicide squad.
Wounded in the abdomen and both legs, Page drove his car about half a mile to the 1400 block of West 48th Street, where he crashed into a parked vehicle, Velasquez said. Page was taken to California Hospital Medical Center, where he died, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call detectives at (213) 485-1383.
