Sharon’s son will go to prison

Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s elder son will go to prison next month for illegal fundraising during his father’s 1999 primary campaign.
Israel’s Supreme Court upheld Omri Sharon’s seven-month prison sentence, court spokeswoman Ayelet Filo said. Sharon’s lawyers said he will begin his term Feb. 27, his father’s 80th birthday.
Ariel Sharon has been in a coma since suffering a stroke in 2006.
