A priest accused of molesting a boy in an Orange County hotel was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.
The Rev. Luis Eduardo Ramirez had worked at Our Lady of the Pillar parish in Santa Ana since 2003. He was accused of taking the 17-year-old boy to a hotel after his parents asked him to counsel their son.
As part of the plea deal, Ramirez admitted that he touched the boy inappropriately, gave him alcohol and lied to his parents to cover up the crime.
Ramirez pleaded guilty in June to misdemeanor battery and burglary. Prosecutors dismissed charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor, delinquency and child annoyance or molestation.
