AFI screening: Morgan Freeman has withdrawn from the American Film Institute’s 40th anniversary event at the ArcLight Cinema on Wednesday, so “The Shawshank Redemption” will not be screened, the organization said Friday. No reason was given for Freeman’s absence.

Expanded duties: Jose Rizo has been named music director at jazz station KKJZ-FM (88.1). He will continue to host his weekday program “Jazz on the Latin Side.”
