Next, my closets

One sheet of paper contains flight info; another gives hotel details; and another, the rental-car company. It’s the paper trail we thought we eliminated when we went “e.” WorldMate, which I recently downloaded to my Blackberry, creates order out of a chaotic travel itinerary. The free version will help you manage your itinerary (it takes info from Outlook and puts it on your itin), gives you flight schedules and status, currency converters, listings of hotels, airports, airlines, car-rental agencies and world maps. If you become a gold member for $99.95, you’ll also get flight cancellation or delay notifications, flight schedules, mapping and directions. Does it work? I loved being organized and ditching the paper, but it did not notify me about a flight delay on my most recent trip. Once I realized I was trapped, I was easily able to check alternative flight arrangements. That seemed like a balm to my travel-bruised soul. Info: www.wmlive.com.
