Attorney general admits to an affair

The state attorney general has admitted having an extramarital affair with a former staff member, and the governor said in Topeka that the official should resign if allegations including workplace sexual harassment were proven.
The former staff member filed a civil rights claim against Atty. Gen. Paul J. Morrison last month with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Morrison, 53, who is married and has three children, said that many of Linda Carter’s claims were “patently false,” but he confirmed they had a relationship.
