College football: An article in Saturday’s Sports section said that after Nebraska made it to the 2001 title game without winning the Big 12 Conference championship, BCS commissioners decided against a rule that would have required title-game participants to be conference champions, and that the next season, Oklahoma finished No. 1 in the BCS despite being blown out in the Big 12 title game. Oklahoma was beaten not the next year, but in 2003, by Kansas State.
