U.S. Price at Pump May Fall to $2.25 a Gallon

The average price U.S. drivers pay for gasoline is expected to drop 25 cents more in the short term, the federal Energy Information Administration said.
“Reductions already seen in spot and futures markets could imply a further decrease in the U.S. average retail price of as much as 25 cents” -- to a national average of about $2.25 a gallon -- if the wholesale markets don’t turn up before then, the agency said.
