Patt Morrison is absolutely correct. The National Football League is simply a big corporate welfare queen.
The mayor would be better served waiting for it to come to him, and when it inevitably does, he should request Green Bay-style (public) ownership.
Why not? It combines the best of all worlds. The Packers field competitive teams and make a nice profit, and the Green Bay community is spared the charade of a threatened move every 10 to 12 years.
