Fire, Police Departments to Hold Recruiting Fair

The Los Angeles police and fire departments are inviting people interested in a career in public safety to attend a recruiting fair targeted at women, at the Los Angeles Police Academy on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will feature seminars and equipment displays, and attendees will get a chance to use the Fire Arms Training Simulator, an interactive video presentation that allows civilians to assume the role of an officer. In addition, the three-hour LAPD entrance examination will be offered at 12:30 p.m.
