First impressions of Zambia

THIS is the first frame that Colleen McSweeney shot in Nkwazi, Zambia, where she spent 12 days in October as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. “The children are taking care of the children there,” she said. “When you hear that whole it-takes-a-village thing, I really got to see that in action.” McSweeney, who lives with her family in Manhattan Beach, took this 18-day trip alone. Her group helped the village residents build two homes.
