California Pizza Kitchen Lifts Estimate for Period

Casual dining chain California Pizza Kitchen Inc. boosted its second-quarter earnings estimate, saying it would report profit at or above Wall Street expectations.
After the announcement, California Pizza Kitchen shares rose 60 cents, or 2.2%, in after-hours trading. The stock had closed at $27.40, down 11 cents, in regular trading.
The Los Angeles company now expects to report earnings of 29 cents to 30 cents a share, up from its previous estimate of 28 cents to 29 cents a share, including the effects of stock compensation expenses and a lease accounting pronouncement.
