Three men were arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of invading a home in the 5300 block of West Roosevelt Avenue and demanding money.
Police said they were alerted about 5 a.m. by a member of the family -- which included three children -- who had managed to escape.
“We basically surrounded the place, and after a while they came out and we took them into custody,” said Cmdr. Bill Nimmo of the Santa Ana Police Department, adding that two of the men were armed with knives and one with a handgun.
The men’s names were not immediately available, he said.
