About 2,000 volunteers were expected to phone an estimated 50,000 potential donors Sunday during the Jewish Federation’s annual “Super Sunday,” its biggest single fundraising event of the year.
“This constitutes about 10% of our annual campaign,” Deborah Dragon, the federation’s vice president of public relations, said of the phone calls made from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from three locations throughout Los Angeles County.
The proceeds are to be used to fund social, educational and humanitarian services in Los Angeles, Israel and 60 other countries.
The people contacted, Dragon said, are members of the Jewish community throughout Greater Los Angeles.
