Richard Midgley had 16 points and Leon Powe added 13 points and 16 rebounds for California, which cruised to a 69-52 win over Oregon State on Thursday in Corvallis, Ore.

The Beavers (10-11, 3-7) beat the Bears, 72-64, at Haas Pavilion on Jan. 7 but were never in this game as they continue to struggle without point guard Lamar Hurd. The senior has missed five games in a row because of a groin injury
Beaver Coach Jay John yanked all five of his starters with his team trailing, 8-0, and it didn’t get any better from there as California built a 21-2 lead. Oregon State missed 11 of its first 12 shots.
Stanford 57, Oregon 56 -- Chris Hernandez made a three-point basket with 11.3 seconds left on the road to rally Stanford. He scored Stanford’s final eight points, rescuing the Cardinal from a 54-49 deficit with 2:20 to play.
Hernandez finished with 20 points and Matt Haryasz had 24 points and 14 rebounds for Stanford (11-7, 7-3), which has won four in a row and seven of its last eight.
Malik Hairston scored 23 points to lead Oregon (10-12, 4-6), which has lost its last four.
Stanford has won seven in a row against the Ducks.
