Judge Delays Start of Pellicano Trial
The conspiracy and racketeering trial of indicted private-eye Anthony Pellicano and six co-defendants will be postponed until October, a federal judge decided Tuesday.
U.S. Dist. Judge Dale S. Fischer said the delay was needed so defense attorneys will have reasonable time to review the evidence still being compiled by the government, which has been investigating Pellicano and others for more than three years.
Pellicano and the others are charged in a 112-count grand jury indictment that covers wiretapping, false statements and other crimes. They all have pleaded not guilty.
