‘Penzance,’ ‘Cats’ on slate at Cerritos

Productions of “Cats,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “The Pirates of Penzance” share space with stylistically varied guitar programs featuring the Romeros, Leo Kottke and Roy Clark, and a raft of holiday concerts in December on the 2006-07 season schedule at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.
The slate opens Aug. 19 with Michael Crawford and encompasses jazz (the Dave Brubeck Quartet, Aug. 21), pop (Burt Bacharach, Aug. 27), chamber music (Shanghai String Quartet, Sept. 15), dance (Pilobolus, Feb. 16), rock (Blues Traveler, Jan. 5), country (Randy Travis, Aug. 23) and more.
Tickets go on sale May 6 at 8 a.m. by Internet, mail or through the Cerritos Center’s box office. Phone and walk-up sales begin June 10.
