BASEBALL

* Mike Moustakas, Chatsworth: Hit his 11th home run of the season to tie a school record in the Chancellors’ 11-0 victory over Fremont in a City Section playoff game. It was win No. 400 for Coach Tom Meusborn, who is 400-80-3 in 16 seasons.

SOFTBALL

* Callie Nikoletich, Long Beach Wilson: Struck out 14 in a 1-0, 22-inning victory over Fullerton in a Southern Section playoff game. Nikoletich, a freshman, beat Fullerton freshman Katey Laban, who struck out 31 -- the third most by a freshman in state history and tied for 17th best overall, according to Cal-Hi Sports.
