North-South Talks Extended for Third Day

The two Koreas extended their first direct talks in 10 months for a third day as Seoul tried to persuade communist Pyongyang to return to sixnation talks about its nuclear weapons program.
The delegations remained at the North Korean border town of Kaesong. The secretive, impoverished North sought additional fertilizer and food aid, but South Korea linked that to the nuclear negotiations.
In Beijing, a Chinese official appealed to the U.S. and North Korea to establish direct contact to get the talks going again.
