Wendy’s Suspect Is Back in State to Face Charges

The Las Vegas woman arrested after she said she found a human finger in a bowl of Wendy’s chili here was transferred Friday to California to face charges that her claim was a hoax.
San Jose police took Anna Ayala into custody from the Clark County jail about 6 a.m., Las Vegas Police Sgt. Chris Jones said.
Ayala, 39, waived extradition April 26 and told a Las Vegas judge she was eager to return to California to face charges of attempted grand theft in the Wendy’s case and an unrelated grand theft charge.
Her lawyer, Rick Ehler of San Jose, has called the charges baseless.
